Dr. Marshall Shepherd, host of the popular Sunday morning news/interview show Weather Geeks on The Weather Channel will be speaking at the National Weather Association’s WeatherReady Fest on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Norfolk.
His topic, “Cola, Sports and Zombies”, is a look at the implications of communicating weather and climate.
He will be part of a list of ten speakers that will appear in the conference room at the Nauticus Science Museum on the waterfront in downtown Norfolk.
The series will kick off with a Student Weather Briefing at 10:15 a.m.
Other notable speakers include former National Hurricane Center Director Bill Read and Dr. Michelle Covy from Old Dominion University. Dr. Covy is an expert on sea level rise and Director Read will be speaking on our vulnerable coastal areas, including the Hampton Roads area.
The National Weather Association WeatherReady Fest will take place at the Nauticus Science Museum on the waterfront in downtown Norfolk on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission requires a free timed ticket that is available online.
