Thank You St. Louis For A Successful WeatherReady Fest

Thank you to everyone who came out and made WeatherReady Fest 2018 a huge success! While it was a brutally hot day in St. Louis with the high at 95 degrees and the heat index approaching 105 degrees, a record number of guests attended the event. That’s right… nearly 6,000 people made it over to the Saint Louis Science Center and took part in fun learning games and activities about the weather, along with seeing the latest in weather information and technology, and getting to see our celebrity guests perform on the center stage. We thank you, St. Louis, for making 2018 the best WeatherReady Fest yet!

We would also like to thank every single one of our exhibitors, volunteers, and staff of the Saint Louis Science Center for making this year’s event so successful. We had over 40 exhibitors inside the science center, along with 17 large vehicles in the planetarium parking lot. We had 65 volunteers who made sure that guests were being informed about all of the great activities and stage shows that were going to take place, along with making sure that exhibitors were given a needed break and refreshing drinks throughout the day.

We would like to thank the awesome speakers who gave up their free time to do historical and informative talks about St. Louis weather phenomena and the great organizations that help keep people safe during severe weather and help people recover after natural disasters.

And finally, we would like to thank our special guests who made appearances on the Center Stage… Ginger Zee, Nick Walker, James Spann, and of course we can’t forget Owlie Skywarn. Along with those, we would like to thank Fredbird, from the St. Louis Cardinals, and Louie, from the St. Louis Blues, for their surprise appearances.

2018 was a surprising and record-breaking success for WeatherReady Fest. We can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for the event. We’ll let you know where it will be when the city and event location is finalized.
